A MESSAGE FROM GUY RENNER-THOMPSON: OUR PLAN FOR OUR COMMUNITY -
"As a long-standing Conservative councillor in the North East I know that crime and anti-social behaviour are significant issues in our community.
Reports of vandalism, graffiti, intimidation and other anti-social activities are on the rise across our city, reflecting the need for decisive action. I am dedicated to addressing the issues of crime and anti-social behaviour in Newcastle.
My plan includes the installation of more CCTV in crime hotspots and the introduction of barriers across our metro network. These would be manned at key locations and times to deter and prevent anti-social behaviour. These measures are designed to make our neighbourhoods safer and more secure for everyone.
A key part of our plan is the new National Service policy. This initiative aims to instil discipline, skills, and a sense of civic duty in young people, providing them with positive opportunities and deterring them from engaging in anti-social behaviour. This policy will complement our local efforts to combat crime and support community safety."
